VRCC to host Christmas Morning Tea
VINES Road Community Centre (VRCC) will host this year’s edition of its free Christmas morning tea event on Wednesday, December 17.
Now in its fifth year, the event will feature complimentary catering, live music, prizes, pop-up stalls and even a visit from Santa.
VRCC executive officer Sally-Ann Muller expressed her enthusiasm for the morning, noting its significant growth since it began.
“This free community event is designed to mark the end of the year and, most importantly, to create opportunities for genuine connection,” she said.
“We believe it is now the largest celebration of its kind in the region.”
Ms Muller said that the event is a direct reflection of the broader role of VRCC in the Geelong community to bring people together and support their wellbeing.
“In many ways, this event is a celebration not just of the festive season, but of the strong engagement and community spirit that defines VRCC,” she said.
“It embodies our mission and demonstrates the positive impact a community centre can have when it truly responds to local needs.”
The event runs through the work of volunteers who offer their time to bring it to life, something Ms Muller appreciates.
“VRCC simply could not deliver the breadth of programs, activities, and events we offer without the remarkable support of our local community,” she said.
“Their generosity and willingness to get involved are what make occasions like this possible, and we are always eager to welcome more helpers who would like to be part of what we do.
“We invite everyone in the community to attend this free celebration. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together, enjoy the festivities, check out your local community centre and connect with neighbours.”
The morning tea will run at VRCC, 7-61 Vines Road, Hamlyn Heights, from 10.30am to 12 noon.
