Wine to shine in Geelong
GLASSES of wine will flow on Saturday (February 8) across Greater Geelong as the APCO Foundation Geelong Wine Walk returns for another year.
The popular community fundraiser will see participants enjoy tastings from more than 20 renowned producers at seven popular Geelong venues.
All funds from the day will go towards providing immediate support to local families facing challenges.
Scotchmans Hill, Provenance Wines, Leura Park Estate and Pizzini Wines are among those being showcased on the day.
Delicious canapes and live entertainment will be on offer at all partnered venues – The Wharf Shed, Geelong Arts Centre, Geelong Boat House, Frankie, The Davidson Restaurant, The Eureka and Sailors Rest.
APCO Foundation chairperson Sharon Gleeson said the community’s generosity is certain to shine on the day.
“Every dollar raised makes a real difference to people doing it tough in our local communities.
“Every ticket purchased, every glass raised, contributes to creating positive change in our community.”
Organisers are hopeful they can go close to the $100,000 raised at last year’s event.
APCO service stations director Robert Anderson said he was proud of what the APCO Foundation continued to achieve.
“From helping families and individuals to supporting local not-for-profit groups, we’re making a difference where it matters most.
“The Geelong Wine Walk is a perfect example of how we can bring people together, celebrate what makes our region special, and create positive impact in our local APCO communities.”
The Geelong Wine Walk will be held from 11am to 5pm.
