Works to start at Fyans Park boat ramp

THE Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is carrying out an upgrade to the Fyans Park boat ramp along the Barwon River from next week.
The works, which will begin on Monday, June 17 and end on Friday, June 21, will improve the safety and condition of the boat ramp in Newtown for recreational users.
The upgrade will include the installation of non-slip mesh to the ramp and upgrades to the decking and grass surrounding the ramp.
Once complete, the works will provide improved access and safety for users.
The boat ramp will be closed to the public for the duration of the upgrade works.
The Rotary Walking track and the Fyans Park carpark at the end of West Fyans Street will remain open to the public.
The Corangamite CMA is advising pedestrians and cyclists to slow down when approaching the area.
