Fyansford Town Centre snapped up by prominent local

Flourishing Geelong housing estate Gen Fyansford takes another step forward with the sale of its Town Centre sites to development company Fyansford Brick Town, an entity thought to be controlled by a prominent local figure behind the Cotton On group.

ICD Property managing director Matt Khoo confirmed that the purchaser is of significant local stature but would not verify their identity.

“As Gen Fyansford’s developers it was important to us to select a purchaser who shared the community’s best interests, and I believe we have done that,” Mr Khoo said.

“The purchaser is local to Geelong, and I am confident they have the perfect blend of intimate local knowledge and expansive capabilities to deliver the Gen Fyansford Town Centre in a way that best serves our estate residents and wider surrounding community.”

The two Town Centre sites at 35 (formally 47) and 51-59 Hyland Street, Fyansford, have long been an attractive drawcard to purchasers of the highly sought-after Gen Fyansford estate, offering the promise of immediate access to everyday amenity that improves resident’s lifestyle.

35 Hyland Street sits on 4.79ha and is predominately zoned Commercial 1 whilst 51-59 Hyland Street sits on 1.438ha and is entirely zoned as Mixed Use.

Together, the two sites amass an impressive land size of approximately 6.23ha and have the potential for a range of uses, including but not limited to a supermarket, specialist retail, commercial and community facilities, plus options for a mix of medium and high density residential, as approved by the City of Greater Geelong Council in the Town Centre Masterplan – making the land extremely versatile and multipurposed.

The landholdings were sold by Benson Zhou and Julian Heatherich of Savills Australia and is believed to have a price tag of just over $7 million.

Gen Fyansford developers ICD Property and Supalai Australia Holdings chose to sell the commercial landholdings to remain solely focused on delivering the estate’s residential components to the highest quality.

Upon completion the estate would have developed 1,400 lots and a commercial Town Centre.
