This highly regarded Freshwater Creek property, “Willowite Springs”, has been bought by a Melbourne and Surf Coast family.

Hayden Real Estate Torquay in conjunction with Charles Stewart & Co have transacted another historic hinterland sale.

The highly regarded Freshwater Creek property “Willowite Springs” has been bought by a Melbourne and Surf Coast family with the price thought to be in the quoted range of $7.9 million to $8.4 million.

This prestige 209 acre property at 575 Willowite Road was extremely well set up with an expansive modern home that complemented the established farming land which boasted extensive shelter belts and nature corridors consisting a mix of native and exotic vegetation along with reliable water.

Commenting on the sale, joint marketing agents, Andrew Rice of Charles Steward & Co and Bryan Hayden of Hayden Real Estate Torquay both said the property was a rare gem.

“It is superbly located and has been beautifully developed over the past 15 years by the Davidson family,” Mr Hayden said.

“I’m not sure where you will find a better combination of location, privacy, highly productive land, beautiful home and significant tree planting and environmental works.

“The possession of the property is expected to pass to the new owners in November.”

The sale highlights that lifestyle farming properties close to the coast are still being sought by premium buyers, especially Melbourne based buyers who are an easy drive away.

This “Willowite Springs” sale translates to a price point of around $38,000 per acre, which would be the top end of the Freshwater Creek market.

Hayden Real Estate have further hinterland lifestyle listings even closer to the coast for sale, which include 410 Great Ocean Road Bellbrae (89 acres) which is looking to achieve a price expectation of around $112,000 per acre being placed perfectly between Bellbrae township and Jan Juc.

A bit further out in the popular Gundrys Road precinct, 195 Gundrys Road, Bellbrae (150 acres) which is an off-grid oasis, is on the market for around $34,000 per acre, while 750 Great Ocean Road (88.5 acres), which can also be reached via Woodacres Road off Gundrys Road, is looking to achieve about $67,000 per acre.
