The size of Curlewis is approximately 20.3sqkm and has four parks covering nearly 0.2 per cent of total area.

The population of Curlewis in 2016 was 1,565 and by the 2021 Census the population was recorded at 4,175 showing a population growth of 167% in the area during that time.

Curlewis is a new suburb that has jumped out of the ground at a rapid pace due to the pursuit for residential land on the Bellarine close to Geelong.

The area has been transformed from a rural lifestyle community of just over 200 people living on acreages and farmlets to a modern young suburb with a population above 4,000.

This new suburb boasts a median age of 34, one of the youngest in the state, with neighbouring Drysdale in comparison showing a median age of 49, so it’s not surprising that the predominant age group is in the 0-9 year bracket as young families make Curlewis home.

CoreLogic data indicates the predominant age group in Curlewis is 0-9 years with households in Curlewis being primarily couples with children and are likely to be repaying on average $1,777 per month on mortgage repayments.

In general, people in Curlewis work in a professional occupation.

AGENT PERSPECTIVE:

“Curlewis has some of the best bay views in the Bellarine Peninsula district and is walking distance down to the shelly beach on the township’s foreshore.

“It is also just a short drive to the boat ramp for all the bay activities so it’s no wonder so many people are choosing Curlewis as their new community.

“Located conveniently to enjoy all the Bellarine has to offer like wineries, surf beaches, ferry services and the Bellarine Rail Trail, with easy access to the ring road and only 20 minutes to the Geelong’s CBD, Curlewis is the spot.

“It is a lifestyle plus location that accommodates everyone, first home buyers, families, investors, and retirees and every Curlewis resident I speak to loves where they live.

“Quite a few of my clients, whether upsizing or downsizing, stay in Curlewis because they love the location and lifestyle.”
