Coerver to curve for goal this holiday season
In 2022, former Socceroo and Jan Juc local Adrian Leijer launched Coerver Coaching, a globally recognised football program inspired by Dutch maestro Wiel Coerver, in Geelong and the Surf Coast.
An Olympian and Socceroo, Leijer is also a former Championship winner and captain of Melbourne Victory FC. His career took him from the A-League to the English Premier League, Chinese Super League and Korea’s K-League.
“I’m driven to provide kids in Geelong and the Surf Coast access to a high-quality soccer program,” he said.
“Through coaching my daughters, I realised I’m now in a position where I should be sharing my experience and knowledge of the game.
“We have grown rapidly in Geelong over the past two years and I can’t wait to see where we take it. We have big plans to connect with our global network.
“I am fortunate that football took me around the world. I understand the challenges aspiring athletes in regional areas face and my goal is to provide a foundation for children of all levels to develop a love for our great game.”
Coerver Coaching forms the foundation of top academies around the world such as Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, while heavily influencing some of the best national federations, such as World Cup finalists France and Asian powerhouse Japan.
“Coerver is highly regarded globally and we’ve seen the influence the Coerver method has had on some of the biggest players, clubs and federations around the world.” Leijer said.
Coerver Coaching will be running holiday programs in Lorne, Geelong, Torquay, Ocean Grove and Ballarat throughout January.
