Join the Sea All Marine Biology Camp these school holidays to take your first step as a marine biologist.

Throughout the holiday program, budding marine biologists aged 13-17 will be introduced to the field of marine science, giving students a better understanding and appreciation of the various disciplines in marine science and biology.

The three-day program from September 26-28 is designed to explore the marine science industry and provide students with experiences beyond the classroom setting.

From running transects in Swan Bay to snorkelling the Great Southern Reef, students will receive the full spread of what it means to be a marine biologist and build on the skills they will need to pursue their marine studies and careers.

If you want more exposure to the marine science industry and to develop your interest further, this is the holiday program for you!

From marine mammals to temperate kelp beds, there is something for every student.

Highlights include :

  • Learn from tertiary qualified educators and guest speakers about the Great Southern Reef
  • Complete transects and quadrats surveys contributing to on-going biodiversity datasets
  • Assist Deakin University with on-going research on Port Phillip Bay’s resident dolphins Species identification and count through intertidal zones
  • Study marine debris and participate in a SOEL plastic recycling workshop
  • Boat or shore snorkel at one of Port Phillip Bay Marine National Parks
  • Learn about scientific monitoring and AI technology, and
  • Explore careers in marine science.

The camp will run for three days from 9.30am-3.30pm, with an optional fourth day for an introduction to scuba diving.

Places are limited to ensure small groups, and will run with a minimum of four and a maximum of 12 students.

The price is $350 for three days or $550 for four days.
