Major travel expo comes to Geelong
Geelong will host Victoria’s largest travel expos since COVID-19 as travel providers from across Australia and the world visit the city.
Geelong Travel will present a Travel and Cruise World Expo next weekend, with a host of exclusive, one-time offers available for eager holidaymakers ready to hit the road, air and sea.
More than 60 exhibitors and 36 presenters will show what they have to offer for keen tourists for the six-hour event across four rooms at Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium on Sunday, April 3.
The travel expo promises to cover all the bases for travellers next holiday, whether it’s a cruise, rail tour, wildlife safari, nature-based travel, polar expedition or European odyssey.
Australian television legend Ray Martin headlines the list of guest speakers with a presentation of his travel experiences, called Places I’ve been and people I’ve met.
Geelong Travel owner Stuart Coffield said excitement was palpable across Victoria for the show as travel operators returned to business after a tumultuous two years.
“We’re very excited. We’ve already had clients ring up to book accommodation from Warrnambool and Bendigo, they’re coming down for the weekend. We’ll have plenty of day trippers from Melbourne too,” Mr Coffield said.
“There’s exclusive deals available on the day, and it’s the chance to talk to someone face to face and not in a chat room with someone from overseas.
“You can speak to real people that have been on the holidays and they’re not reading off prompt sheets.
“We’ll have holidays for every age group and everyone; from New Zealand, to Europe, to North America, South Africa, and cruising.
“Everyone wants to travel. My biggest thing is, you only live once, so enjoy it.”
Entry to the event and its presentations is free, via the stadium’s Brownlow Stand.
