AFL Barwon releases 2024 BFNL Fixture

A GOOD Friday double-header opener will kick off the 2024 Bellarine Football Netball League season on March 29 as the Bellarine’s best begin their quests for premiership glory.

Released today (Wednesday, December 13), the fixture reveals Portarlington will open its 150th year by hosting Newcomb at Portarlington Recreation Reserve,, while Modewarre will host Geelong Amateur in a twilight game against Geelong Amateur.

The Easter Long Week will also feature a blockbuster BFL Grand Final rematch at Spring Creek Reserve with Torquay squaring off against Drysdale.

In the BNL, reigning premiers Ocean Grove and Geelong Amateur won’t meet until Round 6 at Queens Park Reserve.

 

The Bellarine Netball League Grand Final rematch between Ocean Grove and Geelong Amateur will take place in Round 6.

 

League byes will take place on May 11 following Round 6 and July 6 following Round 13.

The 2024 BFNL Finals Series will begin on August 17 and conclude on September 7 following both codes’ two Grand Finals.

Traditional fixtures such as the Anzac Day game between Portarlington and Drysdale will switch over to Portarlington Recreation Reserve on April 25.

Both “Battles of the Bridge” between Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads will take place, with the former hosting the first meeting in Round 4 and the latter hosting in Round 13.
