GEELONG’S marquee AFLW international signing has agreed to three more years at Kardinia Park.

Irish recruit and key forward Aishling Moloney has signed a contract extension.

She put pen to paper on a three-year contract extension late last month, solidifying her place at Geelong until at least the end of 2027.

Geelong Cats assistant general manager Brett Johnson was thrilled with the club’s announcement, locking in an integral part of the Cats’ forward line.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to secure Aishling for the next three years,” he said.

“She’s been a game-changer since joining the Cats and has quickly established herself as a key part of our forward structure.

“To achieve what Aishling has in such a short time is remarkable, from playing her first AFLW game just over a year ago to being named an All-Australian and the joint leading goal scorer in the league, her development has been outstanding.

“We are incredibly excited to see Aishling continue to grow and reach new heights with us, she is a key piece of our future, and we’re eager to watch her future unfold in the Hoops.”

Moloney, who was picked up prior to the 2023 season, has impressed since day one, adapting her skills to the game of Australian Rules Football seamlessly.

She was named the AFLPA’s Best First Year Player in her debut season, before making the All-Australian AFLW squad this past season following a record-breaking 21-goal season.

Moloney secured the leading goalkicker award alongside Brisbane’s Taylor Smith during the competition’s home and away season.

The County Tipperary recruit also averaged 14.2 disposals and five score involvements a game. She also secured a runner-up finish in Geelong’s AFLW Best and Fairest award.
