BANNOCKBURN is Preliminary Final-bound with a 35-point win over Bell Post Hill in yesterday’s (Sunday, August 28) Semi-Final at St Albans Reserve.

The Tigers tallied 13.6.84 to defeat the Panthers 7.7.49. As a result, Bannockburn will face East Geelong next Saturday, September 3.

Bannockburn secured an ideal start, leading 4.2.26 to 1.2.8 at the opening intermission and kept Bell Post Hill to only three goals after two quarters.

The Tigers quickly expanded its margin to 26 points with a term to play, then kicked four goals straight to cap off a strong run home in the fourth, booking its Preliminary Final spot.

Kieran Fulton was superb with six goals, while Brett Harding, Callum Hetherington and Ayden Osborne aimed true with a pair each.

Bell Post Hill’s Nick Costello was the sole multiple goal-scorer with three majors next to his name.

Dylan Witney, Will Ford, Jayden Ettridge and Beau McNamara all hit the goal sheet but to no avail to the outcome.

Next Saturday’s battle between Bannockburn and East Geelong will decide who will face Inverleigh for the right to be named GDFL premiers.

East Geelong got the better of Bannockburn back in Round 11, but a new day awaits for both sides with everything on the line.
