BARWON Heads remain the only undefeated side in the BPCA A1 Grade competition after easily holding off Barrabool at Ceres Recreation Reserve.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, last year’s grand finalists posted an impressive total of 5/205 after 40 overs, thanks to 43 and 45 runs from Matthew Bode and skipper Daniel Donaldson respectively.

Four wickets from Jacko Mallett and three from Donaldson saw the Seagulls bowl the Bulls out for just 168 in the final over. Barrabool now sit 1-2 after three rounds.

Anglesea secured their second win of the season after holding off Drysdale in a tight finish. The Roos batted first and made 8/138, before a four-wicket haul from skipper Dylan Taylor saw them topple the Hawks for 132 in the 37th over.

Reigning premiers Armstrong Creek took care of Queenscliff at home, with their total of 219 proving to be enough thanks to 55 runs from Nikhil Kapoor and an unbeaten 51 from Jack Maclean.

Queenscliff finished their innings 27 runs behind and now sit 0-3 and last on the ladder to start the season.

Jan Juc improved to 2-1 on the year after successfully defending their total of 3/196 against Inverleigh. Nick Hyden made 72 not out with the bat, while Joey Rew and Ryen Smith took three wickets apiece in a bowling attack that bowled the Kookaburras out for just 146.

In A2 Grade, the competition remains even with four sides sitting at 2-1 and four sides sitting at 1-2. Collendina cruised to a win over St Leonards, Winchelsea beat Newcomb, Ocean Grove beat Portarlington and Surf Coast beat Wallington.
