THE Bellarine Storm has bolstered its Big V Championship roster for the rest of 2023, following the signing of new import Bryan Cashman.

Cashman arrived to the Bellarine last week following an impressive international stint in Germany for TTL Bamberg in Regionalliga, which also included a massive 22-point and 20-rebound performance.

He made his first appearance for the 2023 season on Saturday night in Drysdale, where the 211cm big contributed nine minutes, five points and two rebounds in his season debut.

Cashman’s performance warranted TTL Bamberg resigning the “pure five” for the 23/24 season.

The former Division One collegiate athlete was also a member of the championship in Albania in 2021/22, playing his rookie season as an import in Albania and League Unique (features teams from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia).

“He is a true five who runs the floor like a small forward, aggressive and a great finisher. Cashman can also knock down the mid-range jumper and some open threes,” head coach Luke Beauglehall said.

Cashman played at the collegiate basketball level in Division One with North Dakota and Division Two at Northwestern Oklahoma State.

The Storm head to Melbourne University in Round 9 where Cashman’s minutes are expected to increase.
