GEELONG will host reigning AFLW premiers North Melbourne tomorrow (Saturday, August 16) in a huge clash to kick off their 2025 season.

After a solid preseason that saw them win their two practice hit outs in convincing fashion, the Cats look raring to go to kick their season off in front of a home crowd at GMHBA Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Kangaroos come into 2025 again flag favourites, following their 30-point victory against Brisbane in last year’s Grand Final.

The two sides last faced off all the way back in round two of 2024, where the match ended in a draw at Arden Street and was the only game in which North Melbourne didn’t win.

For Geelong, players such as Amy McDonald, Georgie Prespakis and captain Meg McDonald will lead the way again, while newer names such as Aisling Moloney, Bryde O’Rourke and draftee Lexi Gregor are also ready to take the next step.

Newly announced skipper and superstar mid Jasmine Garner, young forward Alice O’Loughlin and Ash Riddell will be ones to watch for the Kangaroos.

The match at GMHBA Stadium will start at 3.35pm, with $15 tickets available via Ticketmaster. Entry for under 18s is free.
