THE Geelong Premier Women Firsts have followed their bye with excellent success, beating Dandenong in dominant fashion at home on Sunday thanks to a huge opening partnership.

The Cats claimed their first win in the one-day format after solid performances with bat and ball to win by 132 runs.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, captain Stephanie Townsend and Mia Perrin took the field and evaded the Panthers bowling attack to make an incredible 208-run partnership.

Townsend was the first to fall, finishing her innings on 86 runs, whilst Perrin was bowled for 119 and was the catalyst that led to Geelong’s total of 2/253 after

44 overs.

Following the stellar batting performance, the Cats bowlers then restricted Dandenong to just 121 runs, bowling them all out in 36 overs.

Townsend backed up her batting masterclass with two wickets, whilst Aanliya Cheeran took four wickets from eight overs.

The Cats will face Melbourne home this Sunday, November 23, looking to continue their form.

In the Seconds, Geelong went down to the Panthers after falling short of the 151-run target in a DLS-affected clash. Clio Cameron took two wickets, whilst Clover McIlwaine top scored with 27 runs.

Geelong’s Thirds beat Dandenong in dominant fashion, winning by 136 runs thanks to two strong innings.

Sent in to bat first, the Cats finished on 5/235, with Aisha Hendriks finishing unbeaten on 79 runs. They then bowled

the Panthers out for just 99 runs, with Alice Cann taking four wickets.

The Thirds will also take on Melbourne at home this Sunday.
