LORNE premiership coach and former AFL star Ed Curnow is ready for another tilt at the flag in 2026.

Curnow revealed exclusively to the Surf Coast Times last week that he would again be lacing up the boots and coaching the side next season.

Under his leadership, Lorne was able to break through to win the premiership in 2024, before bowing out in the preliminary final this year against Colac Imperials.

The club’s reserves side is fresh off winning its first premiership in 24 years.

Curnow said he was thrilled to be extending his time with the black and white.

“I did the two years, and we’ve just loved it and going down to Lorne with the kids… the community is just so special,” he said.

“Particularly with not making the grand final this year, we’d like to try and chase another one. I just love the players and how good the joint really is.”

Curnow said he was looking forward to getting to work with what is shaping up to be a very similar roster of players in 2026.

“Maybe we can add a couple to the mix, but the current group is really hungry to go one better next year, make the grand final and win it,” he said.

“We’d love to the double and do it also with the reserves.”
