THE red-hot Bell Post Hill will search for their third consecutive win against fellow GDFL finals hopefuls as they host new ladder leaders East Geelong this weekend.
Round 15 saw a ladder shakeup, with the Eagles now sitting atop the ladder after smashing Belmont by 53 points.
Meanwhile, the Panthers upset the reigning premiers Thomson by 27 points last weekend, and after the result against Belmont overturning in their favour, now sit fourth by a game.
After two straight losses, Belmont have dropped to third and now face Inverleigh, who sit sixth by just 0.06 percent. The Hawks can make it five straight wins should they topple the Lions, who could drop further to fourth with another defeat.
Anakie can keep their faint finals hopes alive with a win against Bannockburn this weekend. The Roos beat Winchelsea in Round 15 and are just one game behind sixth place.
North Geelong are now into second place after smashing Corio by 94 points, and could jump as high as first if they beat Geelong West tomorrow (Saturday, August 9) at Osborne Park.
After dropping two straight matches, Thomson simply must beat Winchelsea this weekend to keep their back-to-back flag hopes alive. Another loss could see them fall as low as seventh by the end of the weekend.
The eighth-placed Werribee Centrals will host bottom-placed Corio, after their finals chances were crossed out with a loss to Inverleigh in Round 15.
