Geelong cricketers to represent Victoria
FIVE Geelong Cricket Club players have been selected to represent the state at the U/17 Male National Cricket Championships.
Josh Slater, Lachlan Russell, Liam Biddiscombe and Xavier Grant will line up for Victoria Country, while Santosh Ramireddy has been named in the Victoria Metro team.
Geelong Cricket Club president Jennie Deckker said the exciting announcement follows seven of Geelong’s female players being selected in the Victorian U/16 National Championship squad.
“This announcement reiterates the benefits that we are seeing as a result of the clubs’ investment into academy and junior development programs over recent years.
“To have such strong representation in Cricket Victoria development squads’ points to the future success of the club in years to come.”
Additionally, Lincoln Koliba, Ollie Peake and Zane Attard have been selected in the Vic Country team for the U/19 men’s squad.
The National Cricket Championships will be held in Ballarat next year from January 6 to January 13.
