Gryan Miers signs long-term deal with Cats
GEELONG Cats forward Gryan Miers has committed to the AFL club until at least the end of 2028, signing a two-year contract extension that locks him in well ahead of free agency.
Already contracted until the end of 2026, the 26-year-old Grovedale product extended his deal early, reinforcing his value to the Cats’ long-term plans.
“Gryan is an integral part of our playing group who brings clear attributes on the field and continues to develop strong leadership away from it,” said Geelong Executive General Manager of Football Andrew Mackie.
“He is a valuable part of our list and it’s great news for those involved with our Club to have him in the Hoops until at least the end of 2028.”
Miers has played 138 games and kicked 102 goals since debuting in 2019. Renowned for his elite goal assists, he led the AFL in 2023 with a record 41 and added 26 more in 2024, finishing in the league’s top five once again.
A key part of Geelong’s 2022 Premiership side, Miers’ hard-running and creativity have made him a fan favourite. He returned from concussion in Sunday’s game against GWS, collecting 23 disposals and a goal in front of 28,407 fans on Mother’s Day.
