Humphries named among All Stars’ best

GEELONG’S Lawson Humphries was among the Indigenous All-Stars’ best players in their AFL pre-season win against Fremantle in Perth on Saturday.

The young Cats defender received one vote in the Polly Farmer Medal count, with North Melbourne midfielder Jy Simpkin the winner on 11.

Lawson’s vote came from Hawthorn premiership great Shaun Burgoyne.

Geelong forward Tyson Stengle kicked a goal in the opening quarter for the All Stars.

The All Stars defeated the Dockers 16.12 (108) to 9.11 (65) at Optus Stadium, with Humphries collecting 20 disposals; nine kicks and 11 handballs.

He led the All Stars for disposals at half-time with 13.

Fellow Geelong representative Tyson Stengle kicked a set-shot goal from the boundary in the first quarter.

The crafty forward had 16 disposals; nine kicks and seven handballs.
