JAN Juc Cricket Club (JJCC) are inviting junior girls to give cricket a go in the coming summer season.

After two successful years in the Geelong Girls Cricket League under 12s, the junior girls are looking for more team-mates to join as they progress to the next stage of their cricket careers.

Local girls aged 11 to 15 are invited to a Come and Try Day this month to meet the players, have a barbecue and chat to the club about their interest.

Coach Danielle Johnson, who is also an experienced women’s player, said the JJCC offered a great family environment for junior girls to learn and develop their cricket.

“Jan Juc offers affordable and accessible cricket for families.

“Games are just two hours on Sunday mornings and we have a kit bag so families don’t need to purchase all their gear.

“Our team has had great success including one player Lucie Johnson-McCarty going on to rep cricket last summer.

“We’re excited to build and develop our team into under 15s this summer and welcome new players to come and have a go. Come down on the 10th and meet the players and coaches and give training a try!”

The Come and Try Day will take place at Bob Pettitt Reserve on Wednesday, September 10 at 4.30pm.
