GEELONG United Basketball has secured a new community partner, with local business Kennedys Group signing on to support grassroots competition across the region.
The two-year partnership will see Kennedys Group supply game balls for Geelong United’s community competitions, as part of a broader commitment to improving equipment and player experience at all levels.
Kennedys Group director Chris Kennedy said the company was proud to support local sport, particularly opportunities for women.
“We’re passionate about contributing to the growth of Geelong United Basketball’s community competitions and helping to provide high-quality facilities and equipment for players and fans alike,” he said.
Founded in 1976 by Allan Kennedy, the family-run business is now led by sons Chris and Shannon Kennedy and delivers commercial and industrial plumbing, asbestos and environmental services, along with broader construction solutions.

Shannon Kennedy said the partnership reflected the company’s longstanding ties to the region.
“Our business has always been built on local relationships and trust,” he said. “Partnering with Geelong United Basketball aligns perfectly with our values: supporting local talent, promoting healthy lifestyles and celebrating the spirit of community across Geelong.”
Geelong United Basketball general manager of community Emily Todorov said the agreement would deliver a tangible boost for players and clubs.
“This partnership represents everything we value at Geelong United Basketball – collaboration, connection and community,” Todorov said.
“We’ve been working hard with our community club presidents and broader basketball community to make our competitions better, and an influx of high-quality basketball is a big tick for all.”
The partnership is expected to support continued growth in participation while strengthening links between local business and community sport.
