The Bells Beach Longboard Classic pre-event Trials will be held at Torquay Point and welcome more than 40 of the country’s top surfers to our shores.
The winners of both the men’s and women’s event will gain entry into the main draw of the world tour surfing event at Bells Beach starting Wednesday (September 17).
The local area will be represented in strong numbers, with Will Cousins, Nathan Rivalland, Matthew Shay, Rory Reyntjies and Rita Lahtinen set to take to the water for a shot at the big time.
Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson wished competitors the best of luck.

“The world longboard tour event set for Bells Beach is a great opportunity for the local longboard fraternity to get exposure to the best longboarders in the world.
“The longboard trials are an amazing opportunity for international, national and state longboarders to duke it out for the final spots in the event.
There is a number of talented local longboarders in the draw and we look forward to seeing them use their local knowledge through the trials event.
“Best of luck to all involved and competing, specifically the Viccos!”
