GEELONG will meet Collingwood at the MCG this weekend in a blockbuster primetime clash, with a pair of historic milestones set to headline the night.
Cats defender Tom Stewart will run out for his 200th game, while the Magpies’ Scott Pendlebury will notch up match number 432, drawing level with Brent Harvey for the most matches in AFL history.
A crowd befitting the occasion is expected, with both clubs celebrating players whose careers have been defined by consistency, leadership and the ability to shape big moments.
Stewart will become the 45th Geelong player to reach 200 games, capping a remarkable rise from a mature-age recruit out of South Barwon.
He has developed into one of the competition’s premier defenders and an integral part of Geelong’s backline, after being identified by Cats great Matthew Scarlett, who also coached him at Geelong Football League level.

Across 199 games, the 33-year-old vice-captain has compiled five All-Australian selections, two Carji Greeves Medals and a premiership, with his intercept marking and composure set to be pivotal against an in-form Collingwood outfit.
Pendlebury, meanwhile, is expected to return after being rested for last week’s draw with Hawthorn, as he edges closer to claiming the outright games record.
The veteran midfielder’s durability across two decades has underpinned a decorated career featuring two premierships, a Norm Smith Medal, six All-Australian blazers, five Copeland Trophies and four Anzac Day medals.
His trademark composure and decision-making under pressure remain central to Collingwood’s push for a fourth win of the season.
For Geelong, the match opens a demanding stretch that also includes Brisbane and Sydney in the coming weeks.
Saturday night’s clash gets underway at 7.35pm at the MCG.
