Murgheboluc Cricket Club has emerged as the champions of GCA Division 2 after defeating Torquay in a thrilling final at Leopold Memorial Park.

After winning the toss, Torquay elected to bat first but their batsmen struggled to cope with Murgheboluc’s disciplined bowling attack. Kentish top-scored with 45* but received little support from the other end as Hutley took 3 wickets for 14 runs. Jason Grozdanovski and Dan Grozdanovski also contributed with two wickets each as Torquay were bowled out for 108.

In reply, Murgheboluc got off to a steady start but lost a couple of quick wickets in the middle overs. However, Webb and Daffy steadied the ship with a crucial partnership, taking the score past 100. Russell tried his best to get Torquay back into the game by picking up 4 wickets, but it wasn’t enough as Murgheboluc chased down the target with five wickets in hand.
