AIREYS Inlet marathon runner Ellie Pashley continued her strong run of form on the international stage, finishing inside the top 20 at another event for the second time in 2023.

Pashley, 34, placed 13th in the world-renowned London Marathon on April 23, just two months after placing 19th overall at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships at Bathurst in February.

Pashley was Australia’s fastest runner in the elite women’s field, as Dutch runner Sifan Hassan claimed victory on her debut in 2:18:33. Pashley finished the race with a time of 2:29:37.

The result follows a quick turnaround following the birth Pashley’s daughter Tiggy 10 months ago.

Australian wheelchair racer Madison de Rozario headlined the event as she pushed her way to her second victory at the prestigious event.

De Rozario crossed the tape in 1:38:51, just one second ahead of Swiss rival and defending champion Manuela Schar.

De Rozario pocketed the prize money to put her in good stead ahead of the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships campaign this July.
