THE Melbourne Renegades will return to Geelong for two of their home games in the 10th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL).

The 2020/21 competition fixtures were announced last week. It sees the 2018/19 BBL champions play at GMHBA Stadium against the Hobart Hurricanes on January 8 and reigning champions the Sydney Sixers on January 23.

Melbourne Renegades general manager David Lever said these matches were a chance to broaden the team’s fanbase but also noted the restrictions on grounds is yet to be determined.

“We’re looking forward to continuing to grow our presence in Geelong and the Surf Coast.

“While we are planning to welcome our members and fans to matches, we will continue to work with venues in the lead up to the season and be guided by Government and medical advice with respect to crowds.”

Tickets are subsequently not yet available for purchase.

The Melbourne Renegades first played at the venue on January 3, 2018, in a double-header where both the men’s and women’s side played.

This season, however, only the men’s side will play in Geelong, with the WBBL (Women’s Big Bash League) set to predominantly be based in Sydney.
