BARWON Heads will host Queenscliff in the BPCA1 grand final this weekend, with both sides progressing from the semi-finals.
Last weekend saw the Seagulls overcome Anglesea and the Coutas overcome Barrabool for a shot at premiership glory.
After finishing the home and away season undefeated, Barwon Heads continued their dominant campaign in cruisy fashion at home against the Roos.
Anglesea opted to bat first but were skittled for just 124 thanks to four wickets from Sema Kamea.
Led by 60 runs from Lewis Hyland, the Seagulls chased down the target with six wickets in hand.
Barwon Heads now have the opportunity to overcome their 2024/25 grand final defeat to Armstrong Creek.
In the other semi-final, Barrabool batted first and struggled early to sit at 6/78, including the wicket of Michael Kelson.
While their middle order steadied, the Bulls were all out for 171 against a Coutas bowling attack led by Jordan Monahan’s five wickets, backed up by Tom Kidd’s three.
Queenscliff then chased down the total in the 60th over, with four wickets in hand. Loche Philp top scored with 83 runs.
In this weekend’s grand final, Barwon Heads enter as heavy favourites given their undefeated campaign, but will be conscious of the Coutas’ firepower with both bat and ball.
The two faced off in Round 12, where the Seagulls were challenged early. They prevailed eventually, but Queenscliff will be instilled with belief from the clash.
The clash will take place at RT Fuller Oval in Barwon Heads across tomorrow (Saturday 21 March) and this Sunday 22 March.
