A place in the Bells Beach Longboard Classic will be on the line this weekend, with the winners of the open men’s and women’s divisions at the Victorian Longboard Titles earning wildcard entry.

More than 50 of the state’s leading longboarders will compete at Point Impossible across two days, chasing spots in the November event.

Experienced world tour competitors Ben Considine and Bea Conroy set the early pace after winning the opening round of the series at Phillip Island.

Both have previously competed on the World Longboard Tour and will be aiming to return to that stage in 2026.

They won’t have it easy.

Mornington Peninsula’s Thomas Fahey is pushing Considine in the men’s field, while Torquay’s Will Cousins is also in the mix as he looks to add another state title.

The women’s draw is similarly competitive, with Torquay surfers Rory Reyntjes, Emma Webb and Angela King all shaping as contenders after reaching the open final earlier this year.

Surfing Victoria chief executive Adam Robertson said Point Impossible was a fitting stage for the decider.

“Hosting the final round of the Victorian Longboard Titles to Point Impossible is something we look forward to each year,” he said.

“It’s a location that consistently delivers high-quality waves for our long boarding community and is the perfect place to crown out 2026 state champions and select wildcards into the WSL Bells Beach Longboard Classic.”

Series rankings are based on each surfer’s best two results, with round 2 carrying an additional 10 per cent weighting to reduce the likelihood of ties in the state title.

The series also doubles as the selection pathway for the Victorian Longboard Team, ahead of the Australian Longboard Titles in New South Wales later this year.
