Surfers to battle on the Surf Coast

MORE than 50 of the state’s best surf athletes will take to the water this weekend in a double-header of surfing events on the Surf Coast.

The Victorian SUP Titles and the Victorian Masters Titles will be held on successive days at Point Impossible and Jan Juc respectively.

Surfers will by vying for vital state ranking points in a bid to secure a spot on the Victorian team for the Australian Titles later this year.

Among the local competitors in the SUP field include Australian champion Emma Webb and John Takle.

Former Australian champion Emma Webb will be competing in the Victorian SUP Titles on Saturday.

 

Ray McIntosh, Angie Reiter, Rowan Sapwell and Ross Dart will be some of those throwing the guernsey on in the Masters Titles on Sunday, May 25.

Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson wished competitors luck in both events.

“This weekend is going to be a great showing of both SUP and Masters Shortboard surfing on the Surf Coast.”

“Both disciplines are the key entry pathway into the Australian Titles and will see some great action in the water.”
