Sutherland to step away from Cats’ board
Sutherland has been part of the board of directors at the club for the past six years, joining in October 2019.
He has played a key role in the club’s strong off-field position, having served as a key director as well as on the club’s finance and audit committee.
Sutherland said he appreciated the opportunity to serve the Cats.
“My tenure on the Cats’ board has coincided with several significant milestones in our club’s history.
“I feel very fortunate to have been at the club during the introduction and integration of the Cats AFLW team, the completion of the Stage 5 redevelopment, and of course the 2022 AFL premiership.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to serve on the board. As a lifelong Cats fan, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity.”
Geelong Cats president Grant McCabr thanked Sutherland for his contrubitions.
“James is a highly respected business leader in the sports industry, and the club has benefited from the breadth and experience James has brought to his role on the board.
“We thank James for his dedication and commitment over the past six years and for the important contribution he has made to the growth and stability of the club.”
