THERE are less than two months remaining until the start of the 2024-25 WNBL season, where Geelong United will open the campaign on its home floor against defending champions Townsville Fire.

The top women’s basketball competition in the country released the official fixture last week.

United, the new kids on the block, will meet Townsville at Geelong Arena on October 30 tipping off at 7pm.

Geelong will also enjoy home fixtures in four of its first five games to ensure local fans get their fix of WNBL action early in the season.

Of their 21 games, 12 of them will be part of double-headers.

As of Monday this week, United still had three players to unveil on its roster, following signings of Jaz Shelley, Keely Froling, Sarah Elsworthy, Elissa Brett, Gemma Potter, Hannah Hank, Monique Conti and Haley Jones.
