ROUND 1 of this year’s Victorian Longboard Titles began in good conditions over the weekend at 13th Beach.

Waves were in the 2-3 foot range, and winds were favourable for both days of competition.

Leaving everyone in the heat in a combination situation and taking full advantage of the lefts on offer, Barwon Heads surfer Ben Considine walked away with a win in the Open Mens Logger division, posting a combined heat total of 19.37, posting two excellent scores of a 9.50 and 9.87 (out of a possible 10).

“The waves were fun all weekend,” Considine said. “I’m stoked to come out with the win.”

High scores were also posted within the Open Women’s Loggers division, with Bea Conroy taking the win. Conroy posted scores leading her to a heat total of 15.60, leaving Emma Webb in second position chasing a 7.11 and Eglantine Balland in third position.

“The conditions were nice,” Conroy said. “I’m stoked that we got some waves.”
