ROUND 12 of the WNBL has produced mixed results for the Geelong United team, finishing with one win and one loss.

The team took to the court at Geelong Arena on Friday, January 17, taking on the Sydney Flames where it emerged victorious, beating the top-four side by 20 points.

Flames were leading the match going into the second quarter but by half-time the game was even, before Geelong’s burst of momentum saw it finish with a score of 90-70.

Geelong United returned to the arena on Sunday, January 19 where it fell short to number one team Bendigo Spirit in a 22-point loss.

Scores were tight throughout the game and Geelong was just four points behind at the main break.

Heading into the third, Bendigo started to pull away and the momentum continued into the fourth, resulting in a final score of 95-73.

Bendigo Spirit hosted the TAC Country Roads game against United, highlighting the importance of road safety.

Geelong United will play Townsville Fire in Round 13 on January 25.
