THE Boronggook Drysdale Library and a Geelong builder’s home in Ballarat have recived the top gongs at this year’s Master Builders Victoria (MBV) Regional Building Awards for the Western Region.<\/p>\n

Nicholson Construction from Ballarat was named Regional Commercial Builder for the Boronggook Drysdale Library, which is a high-quality community building, featuring high performance environmental and sustainable design and is part of the City of Geelong’s UNESCO design city accreditation program.<\/p>\n

Geelong’s Aphi Projects took out the title of Regional Residential Builder of the Year as well as Best Renovation\/Addition for a beautifully crafted lakeside home that presented significant challenges to fulfill the high-quality levels of insulation and drainage that needed to be incorporated.<\/p>\n

The two top awards were among 25 awards for display homes, custom homes, commercial buildings, and renovations announced at a gala dinner last month at the RACV Torquay Resort in front of 265 guests.<\/p>\n

MBV chief executive officer Michaela Lihou congratulated the major winners on their outstanding successes, saying they showcased the very best of the Victorian building industry.<\/p>\n

“It is always exciting to celebrate the talented and passionate results that our members continue to deliver for their clients, even during these challenging times,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Our warmest congratulations to all our winners and finalists, especially to the teams from Aphi Projects and Nicholson Construction.”<\/p>\n

Aphi Projects will complete on behalf of the Western Region at this year’s MBV Excellence in Housing Awards, being held at Palladium Crown on October 11.<\/p>\n

Nicholson Construction will similarly compete at the MBV Excellence in Construction Awards, also being held at Palladium Crown, on August 9.<\/p>\n
