A CATHOLIC school in Manifold Heights is among those to receive state government funding to upgrade classrooms and build new facilities.<\/p>\n
Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School is one of 65 Catholic schools across Victoria that will share in more than $243 million to expand and modernise existing facilities or build new schools.<\/p>\n
Located in Minerva Road, the school will use the $3.6 million grant to construct a two-storey multipurpose learning building that will include three general learning areas, specialist learning space, a multipurpose hall, staff and student amenities, offices, and entrance and associated spaces.<\/p>\n
This will provide the school with much-needed performing, arts and music space as well as a basketball\/netball area.<\/p>\n
St Patrick’s Primary School in Geelong West also recently received $3.6 million for a major redevelopment.<\/p>\n
Both projects are being delivered through the Catholic stream of the Victorian government’s Building Fund for Non-Government Schools.<\/p>\n
Geelong MP Christine Couzens visited Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School earlier this month.<\/p>\n
“Holy Spirit and St Patrick’s Primary are fantastic and popular local schools in Geelong, and this project will mean their teachers have the best facilities to give their students the best education,” she said.<\/p>\n
