THE Barwon Sports Academy will host its biggest crowd yet of more than 250 people at its Bis-Sport Breakfast next week.<\/p>\n

The Wednesday, August 21 event in the Captains Room at GMHBA Stadium will raise vital funds to support the region’s aspiring athletes across a total of nine sports.<\/p>\n

Special guests are set to include Geelong Cats ruckman Toby Conway, Mark Neeld (Geelong United), Susan Meaney (Melbourne Vixens) and Penn State alumni and national tennis player Olivia Ryan.<\/p>\n

The panel members will speak about their sporting journey so far and how the community’s support can help make more wishes come true for Geelong’s future stars.<\/p>\n

Barwon Sports Academy chief executive officer Cameron Loftus said the event will be inspiring for the community.<\/p>\n

“We are on track to have our biggest crowd there ever for our 12th annual event which is just terrific.<\/p>\n

“It’s going to be a great chance for us to really discuss the future of sport in Geelong.<\/p>\n

“The Olympics are coming to Australia in 2032 and it’s a conversation we want to be having. Our 12-year-olds will be our 20-year-olds then.<\/p>\n

“Ultimately, we just want to give children the best chance to reach their potential.”<\/p>\n

Since its inception 12 years ago, the event has raised more than $97,000, helping to provide 603 grants to athletes in Geelong.<\/p>\n

The breakfast will begin at 7am.<\/p>\n
