Founded by Adam Lynch and Dale Hardiman, it is one of Australia&#8217;s leading design studios and celebrated globally.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition celebrates the pairs colourful, dynamic and playful approach they take in making their furniture, with the gallery space filled with collaborative projects, furniture, lighting, ceramics and textiles.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_142578\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-142578\" style=\"width: 598px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-142578 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/08\/Dowel-Jones_Ten-Years-of-Dowel-Jones_23-scaled.jpg?_t=1723675711\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" height=\"399\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-142578\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The exhibition at the National Wool Museum is custom-made for the space.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Within the exhibition is a &#8220;Self Portrait Rug&#8221;, a major collaboration with MoPa and GH commercial. Children were asked to draw their portrait, which was then digitally printed onto a 10 by two metre rug.<\/p>\n<p>A chair was also upholstered in Melbourne with names custom-printed onto the fabric. &#8220;Big Friendly&#8221; was designed by Australian furniture designer and artist CJ Anderson for Down Jones.<\/p>\n<p>Hardiman said he wanted to include as many people as possible from across the area in the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are 646 children on the rug, 1,400 names on a chair, and then the collaborations &#8211; so over 2,000 participants making this work and we will be crediting them all.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>City of Greater Geelong deputy mayor Anthony Aitken said the Dowel Jones story showed how creatives and designers can thrive and build community in the industry.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_142576\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-142576\" style=\"width: 599px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-142576 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/08\/DowelJones_TenYearso_50747.jpg?_t=1723675686\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"749\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-142576\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The exhibition includes people from different areas around the city, featuring collaborations from community to industry.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;Geelong has a proud history of design and stories like Adam and Dale&#8217;s are a big part of why the City of Greater Geelong first applied to become UNESCO Creative Cities Network City of Design.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The is exactly the sort of creativity and collaboration we strive to inspire here in Great Geelong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is open from now until November 24.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/nwm.vic.gov.au\">nwm.vic.gov.au<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>\/\/SPONSORED CONTENT<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JOIN design studio Dowel Jones as they celebrate 10 years with an exhibition at the National\u00a0Wool Museum.
