THE team behind the inaugural Serenity in the Stadium event has partnered with Leisure Networks to support more families to participate in the unique yoga session slated for World Mental Health Day.<\/p>\n

On October 10, about 2,000 people will take to the field at GMHBA Stadium for a one-hour guided yoga session as the sun rises over the stands.<\/p>\n

To help those with young children get involved in the event and enjoy some well-deserved me-time, Leisure Networks will be offering a ‘Mini Movers’ program for those aged between 5 and 11 on the day.<\/p>\n

Located at the warm-up space attached to the players locker room under the Joel Selwood stand, parents will be able to drop their little ones off prior to the yoga session for an hour of safe and engaging activities supervised by trained staff.<\/p>\n

Leisure Networks’ Tori Honner, who will be delivering the Mini Movers session, shared her enthusiasm for the event.<\/p>\n

“We’re really excited for Mini Movers to be part of such a fantastic event like Serenity in the Stadium,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It’s important for us to remove any barriers for parents or guardians to participate in this event while also providing a fun and active experience for their children.<\/p>\n

“We’ll be offering a range of engaging sports activities for kids, making it a great opportunity to get active and have lots of fun.”<\/p>\n

Serenity in the Stadium is an initiative of mental health literacy organisation Read The Play, community participation project Active Geelong and Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, in collaboration with major partner Plan Group.<\/p>\n

Open to yogis of all ages and experience levels, the event aims to both spread awareness about the importance of mental wellbeing and provide the community with a space to share in the joy of movement.<\/p>\n

“Mini Movers is the perfect complement to our Serenity in the Stadium event, giving parents the peace of mind to fully engage in their yoga experience, while knowing their children are staying active and having fun,” Read The Play general manager Michelle Gerdtz said.<\/p>\n

“We’re thrilled to partner with Leisure Networks to offer a holistic event where both adults and children can benefit, reinforcing the importance of physical activity and mental wellbeing for all ages in our community.”<\/p>\n

To sign your child up for the Mini Movers program, simply add them to your own registration for Serenity in the Stadium.<\/p>\n

For those who have already secured their tickets, children can be easily registered separately through the same ticket link.<\/p>\n
