A KEY location for basketball in the region is now known by a new name, following the merger of its namesake sponsor in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
AWA Alliance Bank Stadium in Belmont has been renamed to Beyond Bank Stadium, reflecting AWA Alliance Bank’s merger with Beyond Bank.<\/p>\n
Geelong United Basketball (GUB) said it was thrilled to announce the name for the stadium, which welcomes thousands of junior and senior basketballers through its doors each week for domestic competitions and training.<\/p>\n
“This new chapter not only marks a significant partnership, but also brings a fresh, vibrant look to the stadium,” a GUB spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
“Expect to see the bold and energetic purple of Beyond Bank across the venue, symbolising a renewed spirit of community and progress.”<\/p>\n
Beyond Bank Geelong community development manager Cameron Murnane said Beyond Bank’s commitment to supporting local sports and fostering growth in our region remains “unwavering”.<\/p>\n
“We’re delighted to continue to partner with Geelong United Basketball to continue making a positive impact in the community,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We recognise the importance of sport and its place in our local community. We know that sporting clubs are where people come together to connect and participate, which leads to stronger, healthier, and safer communities.”<\/p>\n
