{"id":105625,"date":"2024-10-18T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-17T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=105625"},"modified":"2024-10-17T12:59:11","modified_gmt":"2024-10-17T01:59:11","slug":"childrens-week-program-to-begin-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/childrens-week-program-to-begin-soon\/","title":{"rendered":"Children&#8217;s Week program to begin soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A SWATHE of events will be rolled out across the Geelong region from tomorrow (Saturday, October 19) onwards as part of Children&#8217;s Week in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The annual national celebration, which this year will be held between tomorrow and October 27, recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children.<\/p>\n<p>Across the Geelong region, several organisations will be running events and activities for children and their families.<\/p>\n<p>These are a great opportunity to connect with local services in a fun and engaging way.<\/p>\n<p>One of the highlights will be Kids Funfest, to be held at St Albans Reserve on Tuesday, October 22 from 9.30am to 12 noon.<\/p>\n<p>The City of Greater Geelong is presenting the event, perfect for preschoolers, as part of its support for Children&#8217;s Week.<\/p>\n<p>The lineup includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bush Adventures with Granny Lee Uke<\/li>\n<li>Creative Upcycling with Urban Upcycle<\/li>\n<li>Water Safety Fun with Lachie the Lifeguard, giant inflatable ducks, and engaging sensory activities<\/li>\n<li>Insights on Flood Awareness with the SES Road Safety Activities<\/li>\n<li>Storytime, resources and Car Seat Support with TAC Road Safety Program<\/li>\n<li>Baby Bunting and Community Police Body<\/li>\n<li>Safety education with Harold and the Life Ed Van, and<\/li>\n<li>Nature activities from Meli, playgroups and National Wool Museum Storytimes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bring a picnic, and a bag to take your treasures home in.
