THE annual Le Festival Fran\u00e7ais returns to Geelong for the third consecutive year, with organisers saying the event continues to resonate with locals.<\/p>\n

Hosted and organised by local French group Alliance Fran\u00e7aise de Geelong in partnership with the National Trust of Australia, the Le Festival Fran\u00e7ais provides the community two days to fulfill all of their French indulgences.<\/p>\n

The festival again returns to The Heights over the October 26-27 weekend, Victoria’s largest prefabricated house, nestled away in the suburb of Newtown with beautiful views of Geelong.<\/p>\n

“After two wonderfully successful events, Le Festival Fran\u00e7ais returns to the picturesque setting of The Heights Heritage House and Garden in Newtown, Geelong for a third year,” event co-ordinator Judy Berryman-Long said.<\/p>\n

“Inspired by all things French, the festival is a celebration of the food, wine, language and above all, the culture of France.<\/p>\n

“Le Festival Fran\u00e7ais showcases beautiful, rambling gardens in a fun, relaxed family-friendly atmosphere, with something for everyone.”<\/p>\n

This year’s festival has all the staples that made it popular in 2022 and 2023, with arket stalls dotted throughout the site, roving musicians, puppeteers, and free stage entertainment.<\/p>\n

Ms Berryman-Long said French police officer Jean Darme, a crowd-favourite, is also returning for the festival.<\/p>\n

French masterclasses are new to this year’s festival, with special French sessions conducted in an intimate setting for visitors.<\/p>\n

A dedicated Kids’ Zone will also be on offer with free activities, fun with language, a small farm, puppet and circus workshops, and painting and craft activities.<\/p>\n

“For patrons to get the best value for their money, festivalgoers are encouraged to come early and stay the whole day \u2013 there’s so much to see and do \u2013 loads of fun, activities and free entertainment for all ages,” Ms Berryman-Long said.<\/p>\n
