The Blue Knot Foundation is calling on Australians to unite for Blue Knot Day on Thursday, October 31 – a national event dedicated to raising awareness and support for the more than one in four Australians living with complex trauma.<\/p>\n

Australians are encouraged to wear a blue knot as a sign of support and to help build a trauma-informed community.<\/p>\n

More than five million adult Australians are impacted by the effects of abuse, neglect, violence, and\/or exploitation experienced throughout their lives.<\/p>\n

Complex trauma can have a profound and lasting impact on individuals and their families. The Blue Knot Foundation provides vital support services, including counselling, education and advocacy to help Australians living with complex trauma heal and build resilient lives.<\/p>\n

Dr Cathy Kezelman, president of the Blue Knot Foundation, said Blue Knot Day is a powerful opportunity to shine a light on the hidden experiences of complex trauma and to show our support for those who have been affected.<\/p>\n

“By participating in Blue Knot Day, we can help break the silence surrounding complex trauma and create a more compassionate and understanding society.<\/p>\n

“This Blue Knot Day join the movement to build a trauma-informed community where healing is possible.”<\/p>\n

To mark the occasion, the foundation is encouraging the community to wear a blue knot, purchase blue knot merchandise, or make a donation to support their important work.<\/p>\n

Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by complex trauma.<\/p>\n

The Blue Knot Foundation is the national centre of excellence for complex trauma.<\/p>\n

It is dedicated to empowering people living with complex trauma – repeated ongoing abuse, neglect, violence and\/or exploitation experienced at any age or life stage – to heal.<\/p>\n

Through their specialist services and advocacy, the foundation empowers individuals to heal, build resilience, and live fulfilling lives<\/p>\n
