A NEW high-end new park at Lara aims to raise the bar for playgrounds allowing children to enjoy healthy physical, mental and social play.<\/p>\n
Villawood Properties has released plans for the 1.3-hectare park at its Coridale development in Lara West.
\nIt has been designed by award-winning landscape architects Plan E.<\/p>\n
The park follows the addition of Club Coridale in the development, with its gym, pool, wet deck, family and function facilities and 9 Grams cafe to open next month.<\/p>\n
Features of the park will include a play tower, basketball\/netball court, skate elements and parkour, double and tube slides, ladder, climbing net, firefighter\u2019s pole, gyro swing and telescope.<\/p>\n
To be located in Coridale\u2019s northern precinct, the park will also include a bridge, mesh balustrades, landscaping, seating, garden beds and extensive turf grassing.<\/p>\n
It will be bordered by Meadow Street, Gravity Street, Watercourse Avenue and Orion Lane.<\/p>\n
Villawood has created several expansive parks and playgrounds across its national projects.<\/p>\n
Designer Adam Lange from Plan E said the Coridale park would provide a dynamic space for all ages with a variety of activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt provides kids of multiple ages with opportunities to explore, interact and challenge themselves and each other,\u201d Mr Lange said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe parkour area and skate elements provide older children and adults with challenging physical equipment whilst the sports court provides for basketball and netball games of all sizes.<\/p>\n
\u201cA large turf space provides a flexible area for larger sports including football, soccer, cricket and the like.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe playground deliberately draws upon natural and raw materials as it sits harmoniously in the surrounding landscape with distant views of the You Yangs.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Lange said the park would provide a central hub for the Coridale community.<\/p>\n
It would also host a large structure overlooking the active areas, providing shade and a meeting point for large and small groups.<\/p>\n
A Villawood spokesperson said construction was to start soon with completion expected in the second quarter of next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
