{"id":106589,"date":"2024-11-13T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-12T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=106589"},"modified":"2024-11-07T09:54:44","modified_gmt":"2024-11-06T22:54:44","slug":"applications-open-for-community-leadership-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/applications-open-for-community-leadership-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications open for Community Leadership Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CITY of Greater Geelong residents interested in strengthening their leadership skills have been encouraged to apply for the 2025 Community Leadership Program.<\/p>\n<p>The program develops participants&#8217; understanding and knowledge of the Geelong community, fosters a network of like-minded participants and equips participants with the knowledge and tools they need to enhance leadership capability.<\/p>\n<p>During the eight-month program, community members will participate in experiences aimed at supporting the emerging leaders with personal and professional growth opportunities.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FzYzmjzcu7k?si=6NJ-Kah7Ydvf6col\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>The program is free of charge and involves eight full-day sessions held on the second Wednesday of every month from March to October across a variety of venues around the City of Greater Geelong.<\/p>\n<p>The city recently celebrated the completion of its 2024 Community Leadership Program with 18 participants.<\/p>\n<p>The participants engaged in workshop style learning opportunities covering topics such as decision making, communications and marketing, conflict management, building relationships, working effectively with partners and emotional intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Participants also had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning experiences through exploring leadership in action within our community.<\/p>\n<p>City chief executive officer Ali Wastie said the program was a valuable opportunity to learn from qualified and recognised community and industry experts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are committed to developing skilled leaders in our region.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The valuable learning experiences continue with our Community Leadership Alumni Program which gives participants ongoing opportunities to network and attend professional development workshops.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Anyone interested in applying for the 2025 Community Leadership program can complete the form at <a href=\"http:\/\/geelongaustralia.com.au\/clp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">geelongaustralia.com.au\/clp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Applications for the program close on November 22.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CITY of Greater Geelong residents interested in strengthening their leadership skills have been encouraged to apply for the 2025 Community Leadership Program.
