RENDERS have been released for the coming Armstrong Creek Sports Centre.<\/p>\n
The centre – one of three projects in Geelong being developed through the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program – will include four indoor multi-sport courts, a caf\u00e9 and gathering space, changing facilities, and a sensory room.<\/p>\n
Opening out onto a civic plaza, the centre will feature outdoor activation areas and open space, with basketball and netball hoops, areas for skating and parkour, informal and nature play spaces and table tennis tables.<\/p>\n
Development Victoria acting group head of civic infrastructure Benjamin Delaney said the new sports centre would be an exciting addition to the growing suburb of Armstrong Creek and the broader Geelong community.<\/p>\n
“We are really looking forward to delivering this new facility in Armstrong Creek, which will provide a fantastic new space for community sport, while also creating employment opportunities for the Greater Geelong region during delivery.”<\/p>\n
Environmental credentials are a feature of the new design, with the centre targeting a Five Star Green Star certification.<\/p>\n
The centre will also provide car parking with electric vehicle charging spaces.<\/p>\n
Designs for the new sports centre have been prepared by Warren and Mahoney Architects and have involved an ongoing co-design process with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation.<\/p>\n
The project is being delivered in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria and has involved close collaboration with the City of Greater Geelong.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
