FORMER Victorian MP John Eren has been appointed to the board of the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust.<\/p>\n
The trust administers, promotes and manages GMHBA Stadium and surrounding land, which includes the Barwon Regional Cricket Centre and the Geelong Sports Museum.<\/p>\n
Its overarching objective is to contribute to the economy, community and liveability of the Geelong region and the state.<\/p>\n
As a member of the Victorian Parliament, Mr Eren represented the Geelong area for two decades.<\/p>\n
He was the Geelong Province member in the Legislative Council from 2002 to 2006, then the Member for Lara in the Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2022.<\/p>\n
Mr Eren held several roles on committees and was a parliamentary secretary, and was the Minister for Sport, Minister for Tourism and Major Events, and Minister for Veterans’ Affairs between 2014 and 2018.<\/p>\n
He will join Joe Calafiore (chair), Gillian Costa, Bernadette Uzelac AM, Clare Amies and Tony Ficca on the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust board.<\/p>\n
Mr Calafiore welcomed the appointment.<\/p>\n
