A QUARTERLY update from the City of Greater Geelong has revealed it is on track to deliver 96 per cent of the actions listed in its 2024-25 Annual Action Plan.<\/p>\n
Its recent September quarterly report showed a total of 56 of 58 actions were close to completion.These include partnering with Geelong Food Relief to address food insecurity, developing its LGBTQIA+ Action Plan, exploring future safe cycling routes and delivering tree planting programs.<\/p>\n
Of the remaining two actions, a review of the draft Early Years Infrastructure Plan is on hold pending further state government consultation, while the Armstrong Creek Community Garden is not proceeding following community group consultation.<\/p>\n
The quarterly reports track the city’s performance against its Our Community Plan 2021-25, a key strategic document determining areas of focus and outcomes to make Greater Geelong “a clever and creative city-region.”<\/p>\n
The city presently has four strategic directions: a healthy and inclusive community, sustainable growth and environment, a strong local economy, and a high-performing council and organisation.<\/p>\n
Geelong mayor Stretch Kontelj said the report showed significant progress towards the planned actions for the year ahead.<\/p>\n
“As we move through the 2024-25 year, there are many actions underway that make our city-region a more clever and creative place.<\/p>\n
