{"id":109301,"date":"2025-01-12T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-11T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=109301"},"modified":"2025-01-09T10:11:24","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T23:11:24","slug":"five-sign-up-for-geelongs-nbl1-south-side","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/sport\/five-sign-up-for-geelongs-nbl1-south-side\/","title":{"rendered":"Five sign up for Geelong&#8217;s NBL1 South side"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FIVE of Geelong United&#8217;s WNBL players will extend their stay in Geelong and play for its NBL1 South side in March.<\/p>\n<p>Jaz Shelley, Hannah Hank, Taylor Mole, Gemma Potter, Tanielle Knight and Dakota Crichton are all signed on for the 2025 season.<\/p>\n<p>Shelley previously called Geelong home during the inaugural NBL1 season in 2019, playing one season before heading off to college.<\/p>\n<p>Team-mate Tanielle Knight has also suited up for Geelong as a development player in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor Mole and Gemma Potter cross over from rival NBL1 teams, while Dakoda Crichton will get her first crack at NBL1 action.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s really good to play with such experienced players. I&#8217;m learning a lot from them,&#8221; Crichton said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I understand that I&#8217;m still quite young, I&#8217;ve probably got a lot of work to do so I&#8217;m just going to take every opportunity that comes my way.<\/p>\n<p>Presently working her way back from a preseason back injury, Mole said she looked forward to bringing her scoring prowess to the NBL1 side.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 396px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2025\/01\/2024December8_321223_70467.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"396\" height=\"594\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hannah Hank driving it to the basket.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During her 2023-24 season in Mackay, she averaged 22 points, 2.76 assists and 7.53 rebounds per game.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want to come in and immediately bring really good energy from day 1,&#8221; Mole said about her signing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The group of girls that we have, I know a number of them from the AIS and other competitions playing both with, and against them.
